- Description
The invitation
Return to the Land is not simply a gardening course. It is a shared practice of coming home: to the ground beneath us, to the people beside us, and to the steadier rhythm within.
For eight Mondays, a small circle will gather in the beautiful natural surroundings of The Vedanta. Together, we will care for the land, grow vegetables and herbs, make useful things, share recipes and rediscover the quiet intelligence of nature.
Each week offers a practical encounter with soil, seeds, water, wildlife, food and making. Alongside it runs a gentler inner journey, towards belonging, resilience, connection, confidence and renewal.

One living system
The wellbeing of people and the wellbeing of the land are not separate. When soil is protected, water is held, diversity returns and roots have room to deepen, life becomes more resilient. The same may be true for us.
Through regenerative growing and agroecology, we will explore how to work with natural systems rather than against them. Agroecology pays attention to relationship: between plants and animals, fungi and soil, people and place. Regenerative growing helps the cycles of soil, water, nutrients and wildlife recover and renew.
Together, we may explore how to
protect and rebuild living soil
conserve water and return nutrients to the land
grow food and useful plants without harmful chemicals
create shelter and food for wildlife and pollinators
respond with care to drought, heavy rain and a changing climate
honour traditional, local and shared knowledge
strengthen the relationship between people and place
As we help a place to recover, we may discover room for recovery within ourselves.
